Înmormântarea lui adună la un loc tot ce romanul a încercat să spună despre suferință și despre ce rămâne după ea.A nine-year-old who fights the whole school for the honour of a father nobody respects. He bites Alyosha's finger without explaining why, because explaining would mean admitting the humiliation. He fades away slowly, surrounded in the end by the same boys he had fought. His funeral brings together everything the novel has tried to say about suffering and about what remains after it.
